When did you first start making your own music?
"When I was four years old I was absolutely obsessed with Christmas carols, even in the middle of June. My favourite pastime was to make up my own lyrics to "Silent Night." Round yon Virgin Mother and... bum. I suppose my official foray into songwriting started when I was about ten. I co-wrote an absolute belter called, "As The Rooster Crows" and performed it at school with two of my friends. We were so cool."
What/who are your musical influences?
"The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Dusty Springfield, The Band, Curtis Mayfield, Earth, Wind and Fire, Charlie Mingus, Herbie Hancock, Jamie Cullum, Tom Waits and Jack White."

"Because we're fresh and motivated and dammit, we're hungry down here!"

"I don't really wanna speak for anybody else, I'm trying not to care so much about what other people do. It's their business, not mine."
