How has your songwriting process evolved since those early days when you were in high school?
"Usually when the rest of the world is sleeping is when I am able to write. I don’t play the piano well but enough that I can have some sort of structure for a song before I show it to the rest of the band and it helps me write the song. Usually what happens is I have a melody stuck in my head and it keeps me from sleeping or I have words that need to come out… So then I sit down at the keyboard. I can’t force myself to write a song, if I say “hey, I want to write a song,” nothing happens. Ever. It has to be in the moment." -Pigeons and Planes.
