Experimental artist Kilo Kish (Lakisha Kimberly Robinson) began creating music when her roommates Smash Simmons and Mel McCloud decided to set up an in-home studio and call the project the Kool Kats Klub. It was through this exposure that she initially met Matt Martians of The Internet and collaborated with The Internet and The Jet Age of Tomorrow. In early 2012, she released an EP titled, Homeschool. Later in 2012, she released the single "Navy" via Blue Rider. In 2013, she released the K+ Mixtape which included the following collaborators: Childish Gambino, Star Slinger, SBTRKT, A$AP Ferg of A$AP Mob, Earl Sweatshirt, and more. She is set to release a new EP in July 2014 titled, Across via Kitsune. Check out her track, "Turquoise" below.
"I think that for most musicians, music fuels their minds and hearts 100%, but my passions are split in a bunch of places so it gives me a different outlook on the music I make. I also have a lot of visual art influences that push me to make different music. I have a different approach and a different standard to the things that I want to make and I always critique myself. I always want my music to have some kind of message or theme or underlying idea. I just look at it differently.I "m not so concerned with fame and being the It Girl or whatever. I just want to make cool stuff all the time and I don't want to stop. That's all." -WILD.
