Madrid-based Deers is composed of Ana Garcia Perrote, Carlotta Cosials, Ade Martin, and Amber Grimbergen. The group has two original releases under their name- "Bamboo" and "Trippy Gum." Ana and Carlotta spearheaded the project when "Ana was the best friend of Carlotta’s ex-boyfriend, who was the best friend of Ana’s ex-boyfriend. We did this trip to the coast in summer some years ago and for no reason we brought two guitars (Carlotta didn’t know how to play even the A chord and Ana stole her uncle’s spanish guitar, by the way. She still keeps it! hahaha). Our hostel was empty and also the beaches we went to, and I think we still didn’t have internet on our cell phones so we started to play like 14 hours a day, seriously. It was this little great cover of Bob Dylan’s “It Ain’t Me Babe.” We enjoyed it so much that we decided to start a band, and while we were playing at the promenade we bet ourselves we will give a concert before the year finished. Our first concert was the 26th of October of this same year." -Pigeons and Planes. "Bamboo" is a lo-fi, messy construction and the ladies like it that way and I do too. Take a listen to "Bamboo" below.
