Wardell is composed of brother-sister duo, Sasha and Theo Spielberg (yeah, that Spielberg, their parents are Steven Spielberg and Kate Upshaw). The first song they wrote together, “Opossum” is on their debut EP, The Brother/Sister EP via National Anthem. Take a listen to "Call It What You Want" from their EP and keep an eye out for their debut full-length album set to be released in 2014.
"If you were only to catch two of our songs, you'd think we were inspired by Kate Bush, Fleetwood Mac, Beach House, and the Band," says Theo. "And then with some songs, there's a TLC vibe," adds Sasha. "We like to combine genres. Theo grew up listening to punk, and I love Christina Aguilera." -Interview.
And have you got any closing Wardell words to live by?
"Everybody’s ceiling is somebody else’s floor." -BYT.
